1965 Colorado Road Trip
Me, Linda, Dad, and Kathy

Not the best of pictures but there was something not set right on the old Brownie camera of Dad's, so all the pictures on that trip were not much good. I think this one was probably the best one. This is the first time we ever went to Colorado and when I first fell in love with the Rocky Mountains. Have I ever mentioned that I LOVE the mountains?

Feb. 3rd Birthdays
Tomorrow is my birthday. It was also my grandma's birthday. I was born on her 60th birthday and thought I was special. I always considered myself as her favorite grandchild (shh, don't tell my siblings and cousins). Grandma passed away in 1972.
"HAPPY BIRTHDAY GRANDMA"

This is the only picture I can find of just the two of us together.

Me as a baby, maybe around my first birthday

Generations

Here is a page I did using pictures of the different generations in my family. From Mom and Dad to my great-great paternal grandparents.
Bo & Stanley Huey, Ben and Orpha Curry, Joshua and Mary Jane Showalter-up the left side. David and Audrey Huey, James and Mary Huey, Hugh and Adaline Mills and Elijah and Cordelia Homan-up the right side.

The Panel Truck

Dad and the GMC panel truck.
I have fond memories of this old truck. Dad had his welder in the back of this truck so he could take it to the repairs that the farmers needed on their machinery or whatever. Dad also pulled a trailer with it to haul big machinery to his shop. Sometimes we kids would ride with him. There were no seats but the drivers seat so we all would have to stand up holding on to a bar above our heads or there was room for one on the welder, but you still had to hang on to something or you would fall off and it wasn't too comfortable on ones behind. The old truck had been a fish delivery truck in it's previous life. It was a faded old green when dad got it. We loved to play with the little bell that went "ding dong" by stepping on a button on the floor. One day the truck became another color. Dad and Ronnie had painted it this bright orange with a paint sprayer.
Oh how I'd love to go for a bumpy ride in that old truck today.

Finishing the Feast 1914

My favorite photos to digital scrap are the old vintage family pictures. This picture is of a gathering of some young women. I don't know what the ocation was, maybe a birthday party.
G-Grandmother, Adaline Mills is in the back row on the right end and Grandmother, Audrey Mills, is the one in the middle, back row. The picture had a title and date written on the front. The title says " Finishing the Feast", the date was 1914

1966

Cleaning house yesterday I came across this old very faded picture of my sisters and me with the new bike I got for Christmas that year. Linda is holding Tiger Tom our big yellow cat. I noticed that this picture was taken in the same location the old picture of us girls and Ronnie back in 1955. Seems like Linda and I always had matching coats like in this picture.
